Blake Baggett showed his speed early in practice when the ASV supported rider posted the 6th-fastest time of the morning. He launched out of the gate in moto 1 and rounded the first turn inside the top ten. He pushed forward and, by mid-race, found himself in a battle with Jason Anderson for the 5th-place spot. Just as Blake was about to make a pass, he made contact with Anderson’s back tire and briefly went down. He got back up after losing only one spot, charged back to make the pass, and finished in 5th place.
Blake started moto 2 by charging out of the gate and rounding the first turn inside the top five. He kept the intensity level high as he pushed forward to the front. Baggett put in one of his best rides of the season, finding his rhythm and attacking the track to finish the moto in 2nd place. Combined with his moto-1 results, BB4 earned 4th overall. With one race left, he continues to hold 5th place in championship points.
“I felt good all day today,” said Baggett. “I knew I had the speed to run up front. I dug deep, and it felt good to get that 2nd-place finish in moto 2. We’ll come into the last round ready and looking to end the season with a win.”
Benny Bloss had a good jump out of the gate in moto 1 and put himself in position to battle deep inside the top ten. The Engine Ice supported rider didn’t let the heated competition get to him and rode fiercely to cross the finish line in 9th place.
In moto 2, another good launch out of the gate put Benny inside the top ten after the first lap. He found his groove and battled the race leaders throughout the moto to finish in 8th place. With his moto 1 and moto 2 results combined, Bloss finished 8th on the day and currently holds 8th place in championship points heading into the last round.
“I rode well today,” said Bloss. “My starts were there in both motos, and I just rode at my own pace out there. I’m looking forward to finishing off the season on the podium next week at Ironman.”
After a solid performance in moto 1 with a 19th place finish, Dakota Alix found himself on the ground during moto 2 in a first-turn pileup. He quickly got back on the bike and started to charge from deep in the pack. The Sunstar supported rider rode with aggression and fought his way up to 19th at the checkered flag. Combined with his moto-1 results, his finish earned him 20th overall.
