New Team; Goal the Same for Baggett
With just a week until the opening round of the 2017 Supercross season, Team Rocky Mountain ATV/MC-KTM-WPS rider Blake Baggett is busy testing and preparing to do battle against the highly competitive 450 field.
Blake made his team’s racing debut back in October during the Monster Energy Cup in Las Vegas, and showed he has the speed to battle for the win, as he raced inside the top five during the first of three main events.
As Blake gets everything dialed during off-season testing, he is ready to get the season started next Saturday night in Anaheim.
“I’m really liking the whole set-up and am super excited” says Baggett about the team. “The KTM is different than anything I’ve ever ridden, and it is easy to get comfortable on. I’ve been working with Michael Byrne on my riding, as he is working for the team this year. I’m excited to work with him and see what skills I can pick up.”
Blake and his mechanic, Nathan Alexander, have been putting in the time at the test track to get the bike dialed in for the start of the season. After working with Andrew Short the last couple years, Nathan is now bringing his wrenching expertise and working with Blake for the 2017 season to get the job done.
On bike setup, “We have a set-up that’s comfortable and building from there. It’s a long season and we will have 17 rounds to fine tune everything so we can go out and race for the win every weekend.”
