Blake Baggett’s night started at the front as he nailed the gate drop in his heat race to grab the holeshot. He was then challenged for the lead, going back and forth before sliding back into 2nd. Blake looked smooth on the St. Louis track and kept the rest of the field at bay to finish 2nd. In the main event, a mid-pack start had Blake charging from outside the top ten. As he kept his focus forward through his Scott goggles, he hit his marks every lap and worked his way up to 6th by the mid-race point. He continued to work his way forward and put in a challenge for the 5th place spot. Blake battled to the finish line and finished the night in 6th place.
Considered his hometown race, Benny Bloss was in good spirits coming into St. Louis. His speed and consistency have been improving every week, and this past weekend was no exception. He showed finesse as he used a great start to propel him to a 6th place finish in his heat race. In the main, the Alpinestars-mounted rider’s never-give-up attitude pushed him through the field, helping him work his way from 14th to just outside to top ten in 11th. Benny put in a charge to break into the top ten but ran out of time and finished the night in 11th.
In the 250SX class, Anthony Rodriguez was back in action after sitting out last weekend’s race. The Galfer-supported rider looked fast during qualifying as he posted the 10th-fastest 250 time of the day. He continued that momentum into his heat race as his speed out of the gate allowed him to run with the front pack to finish 5th. In the main event, Anthony continued to stay focused as he worked his way through the field at the start. While passing for tenth place, he would tangle with another rider, going down. He would remount in 18th and then charge through the field to finish the night in 13th place.
After eleven rounds, Team Rocky Mountain ATV/MC-KTM-WPS will have all four riders under the team tent in Indianapolis, IN, for round twelve of the 2018 Monster Energy Supercross Series.
